Ludo: from controls to your first round
Start Ludo by looking at the playing area and its controls. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Use the example below to understand a decision. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.
Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.
A small practice goal
Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Notice the feedback after each input.
What counts as success
Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Notice how the game responds to your input.
Making your moves
- Roll six to leave the yard.
- Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
- Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
- Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.
Your inputs
Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.
A useful example
A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Read the matching step again.
Pay attention to this rule
Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
